People who love Dapper Dog Training say:

"We have a wonderful 18 month large schnoodle (giant schnauzer and std poodle)  who is lots of fun and keeps us laughing however, she had a terrible habit of mouthing and jumping up whenever she met new people or little kids were around.  Jessica was able to immediately identify what action had to be taken and  to train both us and our children on how to extinguish the behaviour in one session.   She is also an engaging and engaged trainer.   We really enjoyed our puppy classes and plan on taking continuing to train with Jessica!"

"Jessica was an extraordinary help with my new puppy Isabella. Throughout the entire training experience Jessica was professional, friendly, helpful, accommodating, positive, calming, knowledgeable, fun... I literally could write her praise all day. Thanks to the lessons, routine, and positive reinforcement that Jessica brought with her, my little puppy Isabella is turning into a well rounded dog. I would happily highly recommend Jessica and Dapper Dog Training to anyone that asks."

"I adopted a white Shepherd, about 2 years old, last summer. She is a wonderful dog who arrived with MANY fears – men, brooms, traffic, the city in general.

I found Jessica Jacobson through Echo Dogs White Shepherd Rescue and she was amazing at training us and teaching Yoffi that life can be safe, happy and FUN. Jessica is gentle, patient, incredibly gifted and intelligent in her approach. Within just 2 or 3 sessions we saw major improvement in Yoffi’s confidence and comfort level both in the house and on walks. Yoffi has very few quirks at this point – none of them rise to the level of “behavior issues” and I credit Jessica with helping her blossom into a great dog who has overcome a very tough start in life.

I would recommend Jessica to anyone with a puppy who needs to learn to be a happy and well behaved member of your family, or to anyone with a more mature dog who needs help with any behavior issues or fears. She’s a true dog therapist!"

"My three legged yorkie, named Moishe, has always had aggression problems
with other dogs.  It was becoming unbearable to go on walks with him.  I
could tell he was nervous and anxious but didn't know how to help him get
over his issues on the sidewalk.  He was like this even before the
amputation (caused by a mast cell tumor in his left front leg).

Dr Sane, our amazing vet, recommended Jessica Jacobson to us to help correct

Moishe's issues.  Jessica came over and evaluated Moishe's behavior
thoroughly.  We went for a walk and she taught me how to distract him and
use positive reinforcement instead of scolding him for his bad behavior.
Training certainly is a continuous process but with practice and the right
tools (his favorite treats and squeeky toys), he rarely has freak outs
anymore.  He's also been learning tricks like rolling over and jumping up.
I think he likes being challenged.  He's a smart little guy.

I would definitely recommend Jessica to other frustrated dog owners.  You

have to understand what the behavior actually is in order to correct it and
Jessica helped me do that.  Thanks very much!  <3, jill + moishe"

"Jessica came to us as a recommendation from my veterinarian and I don’t know what we would have done if we never found her.  She started working with Logan (my 5 year old lab/hound mix) around three months after we rescued him.  In two short months, Jessica has helped us tremendously.   Logan came to us with no basic training or socialization skills, and was an overall very nervous dog.  He now follows basic commands and is learning how to interact with other dogs.  We had spent weeks with Logan howling at us at night until we let him in the bed, and Jessica had him in his own bed within just two nights!   Jessica has been an incredible source of knowledge and support for my family and has helped my very nervous dog learn to be happy, which is all I ever wanted for him.  I recommend her training wholeheartedly and think every dog needs a Jessica in their life!"

“I worked with Jessica for four months with my two puppies, Lila and Sam.  My puppies were already 12 and 18 weeks old when I got them and had had no prior training at all.  Starting the second day they were in my home, Jessica successfully coached me through all stages of training, including housebreaking, biting, barking, sleeping through the night, and chewing.  Her positive reinforcement format was exceedingly effective and worked equally well for two puppies with very different dispositions.

Jessica’s ability to step in a maneuver the puppies into new behaviors after just three attempts was both inspiring and intimidating.  At times, I was wondering if perhaps I just didn’t have the “knack” for it that she did.  But she helped me to undo many of my bad habits and create new ones in their places.  She was also very clear about the consequences of both my actions, as well as my inactions, when training my pets.  All this being said, in the end, I probably received more behavior modification training than the dogs did!

Aside from her special talent with interacting with canines, Jessica was also the consummate professional who consistently went above and beyond her responsibilities.  The biggest value-added contribution that Jessica made was that she was always “on call” and available by phone or text with quick responses to my urgent requests for guidance about any situation that I didn’t know how to handle."
